As recording producer, I support and inspire the artist musically and technically to attain their goal of creating an historic recorded document for their legacy. In doing so I gain their trust and confidence to help them find personal meaning, spontaneity and ultimately uniqueness, what I call "magic," in their performance.
Part of this is matching the quality of the sound to the artist's expression of their repertoire in the chosen venue. Another aspect is to ensure that the entire technical staff is working seamlessly together as a team in support of the artist's work. Additionally, in the current highly competitive industry, it is imperative to achieve the highest artistic standards as economically and efficiently as possible through highly organized and structured sessions.
All of these components and more must be present at the recording and at the same time invisible to the artists so that they can remain comfortable and focused in their endeavor.
